Senior Qualitative Researcher

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Qualitative Researcher
(10+ years) to join a leading consultancy that delivers high-impact insights and strategies to help organisations shape decision-making at the highest level.

This is a senior role suited to someone who thrives on intellectual challenge, enjoys unpacking complex human behaviour, and can confidently engage with senior stakeholders to inspire action. You will lead projects that drive innovation, shape brand strategy, and provide clients with clear and actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project leadership: Design, manage, and deliver qualitative research projects from brief to debrief across a range of methodologies.
  • Team mentorship: Guide and support junior researchers, providing clear direction and on-the-job training.
  • Expert moderation: Run in-depth interviews, focus groups, co-creation sessions, and ethnographic studies (both in-person and online).
  • Innovation and strategy: Facilitate innovation and NPD workshops, customer journey mapping, and opportunity identification.
  • AI integration: Contribute to the use and continual improvement of AI tools for qualitative analysis and reporting.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Present findings and strategic recommendations with authority to senior leadership audiences.
  • Thought leadership: Share knowledge and contribute to industry conversations through papers or speaking engagements.
  • Collaboration: Partner with quant teams and strategists to deliver integrated solutions.

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years' qualitative research experience with a strong strategic focus.
  • Proven expertise in project design, moderation, and delivering actionable insights.
  • Skilled in ethnographic research, cultural analysis, and innovation methodologies.
  • Experience developing and evaluating marketing strategies (e.g., positioning, CVPs, creative testing).
  • Knowledge of behavioural economics and its application to qualitative research.
  • Confident presenter with a track record of influencing senior-level stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link insights to business outcomes.
  • Adaptable, curious, and passionate about people, culture, brands, and behaviour.
