Role Overview
Genesis / Hyundai of Mountain View is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and manage the dealership's financial operations. This critical role is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing interdepartmental workflows, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. The Controller will also serve as a key liaison between lenders, corporate offices, and internal departments, and will play an active role in training staff on administrative processes and dealership best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations within the dealership
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data to lenders and corporate offices
  • Monitor and improve office workflows and interdepartmental coordination
  • Provide training and support on automotive administrative functions
  • Enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Conduct audits and inspections of office and HR/payroll functions
  • Support and maintain dealership processes to align with manufacturer and industry standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent dealership experience
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior dealership accounting role
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and automotive accounting standards
  • Proficient with accounting software, paperless document systems, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with dealership management systems (Reynolds & Reynolds strongly preferred)
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective under pressure and capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Skilled in training and supervising office, HR, and payroll operations
