Ethos Psychology is a well-known boutique psychology practice looking for contractor psychologists to join our team in South Melbourne. We have a welcoming and supportive team dedicated to the psychologists' and clients' well-being. Our practice aims to cater to your needs by offering personalised support around your lifestyle, professional development, and career progression. We first and foremost invest in our psychologists' well-being and disseminate this into their professional practice and client care. The role will include a general to complex mental health and well-being caseload, and we are looking for a clinician with expertise in assessing, diagnosing and treating clinical disorders varying in severity. You will be able to grow with the private practice and work while sharing the demands of running your own business.
We have a team of psychologists who provide quality, evidence-based psychological services for individual and group health and well-being over a full range of mental health disorders and a variety of focuses. These services include, but are not limited to:
- Psychological Counselling; face to face, video and phone
- Short to long-term evidence-based treatment interventions, including CBT (TF and CBT-E), DBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, Personality Integration, Interpersonal Therapy and psychotherapy (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Neuropsychotherapy)
- Psychological, Comprehensive Diagnostic Clarification and Vocational Assessments
- Written letters of support or reports for legal purposes
- Group Therapy
About the Role
As a Psychologist at Ethos Psychology, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological services to our diverse client base in our partner GP Clinic locations (Southbank, Melbourne CBD). What You'll Be Doing
- Capacity to build strong professional relationships with GP colleagues, enhancing referral networks and supporting the growth of a consistent client caseload.
- Collaborating with clients to develop and implement individualised treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals
- Providing counselling and support services to clients, including individual, couple and group therapy
- Opportunity to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients
- Maintaining detailed case notes and client records in accordance with professional standards
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated care for clients
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
What We're Looking For
- Full registration with AHPRA, ABN and own professional indemnity and workers' compensation insurance
- Minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in providing psychology services to individuals (children, adolescents and adults – practice across the lifespan or a combination of these)
- A psychologist who can foster strong professional relationships with GP colleagues, enhance referral networks, and grow a sustainable caseload.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Eligibility to be registered with Medicare, Work Cover and TAC
- Ability to work with NDIS and VOCFAS
- Proven experience in providing psychology services to individuals (children, adolescents and adults – practice across the lifespan or a combination of these)
- Experienced in assessment, treatment, interventions, referral and management of a caseload
- Highly value client engagement via the use of psychological frameworks, competence in evidence-based intervention and reflective practice
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build and manage professional and therapeutic relationships, and be able to balance professional competence with a warm manner effectively
- Available for part-time contracting, with flexibility to start with a smaller caseload (including half days) and the option of weekend work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Private practice experience desired

- Remuneration and Payments - Our client cohort is private fee-paying and values the services from their treating professionals, which translates into excellent payments. We have a percentage split structure based on a 50-minute clinical hour session that results in a take-home range of $117 - $168, depending on clinical endorsement, experience, and days at the practice.
