At Optus we don't sit back and wait for the future to happen, we are out there crafting our own path through new technology, innovation, and investment. We are truly a challenger brand, with challenger spirit.
The IP & Security Services and Access Technical Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, availability, and customer experience of the Optus Network. This is achieved through hands-on operational execution and the technical governance of suppliers, focusing on service assurance areas such as Change, Problem, and Incident Management. The role is part of a Tier 2 Network Operations team based in the Optus Network Operations Centre in Macquarie Park and involves 24x7 rostered coverage.
In this position, the Technical Specialist will deliver high-quality support, provide leadership to less experienced team members, and act as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners. The role requires collaboration with Managed Service Suppliers, equipment vendors, and Network Engineering teams to support the successful rollout of new technologies, continuous service improvement initiatives, and alignment with Optus' broader network strategy.
Location: 100% on site at Macquarie Park, Sydney
Work Pattern: Rotating shift roster, including morning, afternoon and night
Ready to reimagine your career at Optus?
Rapidly resolve complex network faults beyond the Managed Service's scope and manage critical incident escalations to minimise customer impact.

Ensure planned network upgrades and deployments are aligned with quality and performance standards, and contribute to network expansion strategies.
Work closely with Engineering, Vendors, and Managed Service Suppliers to align operational processes and architecture standards, ensuring technical supportability.
Provide regular technical insights into KPIs and SLAs, identify performance gaps, and support resolution efforts through stakeholder collaboration.
