Trades Assistants

The Redpath Group is a leading mining contractor with almost 10,000 employees on projects across the globe. We specialise in shaft sinking, mine development, contract mining, raiseboring, underground construction, engineering & technical services, and specialty services in the mining and construction sectors.

With the recent acquisition of RUC Mining, we now operate the largest fleet of Raisedrill & Raisebore machines in Australia. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking talented candidates to be involved in the integration and streamlining of our operations to continue Redpath's development and ability to continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners.

About the role:

We are seeking Trades Assistants to provide assistance and support to the tradespersons on mechanical repairs and servicing on all mobile and fixed plant equipment.

This is a residential role to Kalgoorlie, based out of our Kalgoorlie Service Centre, working Monday - Friday (10 hour days).

Key Responsibilities:

  • general housekeeping and cleaning of workshop
  • general assistance for tradespeople – mixture of Diesel Fitters, LV Fitters, Boilermakers, Electricians, & Auto Electricians;
  • machine cleaning include high pressure washing
  • parts and supplies running between work site and workshop
  • provide support to maximise availability of fixed and mobile plant & equipment with efficient, on time cost effective maintenance and repair
  • attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, roster change and shift change meetings when required
  • complete all pre start checks prior to use of equipment
  • conduct Take 5's and JSA's when required

Requirements:

  • experience as a TA or Labourer
  • mechanical aptitude
  • valid Australian manual drivers licence
  • current forklift ticket
  • current first aid & CPR qualification
  • the ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised
  • good communication skills, both verbally and written
  • A positive work ethic and attitude, upholding Redpath's principle - Safety - First, Last and Always.
