About Us:

Cairns School of Distance Education (CSDE) is a Queensland state school offering educational services to home-based and school-based learners from Prep to Year 12.

The school's culture is characterised by the provision of individualised curriculum and high levels of educational support, achieved through close professional working relationships with students and home tutors.

At Cairns School of Distance Education, we are committed to providing high quality teaching and learning to home based learners and their home tutors. Our school is proud of its willingness to integrate ICTs to support the distance education curriculum.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead with Vision: Develop and drive a shared educational vision that promotes quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Promote Equity and Excellence: Embed socially just practices, uphold legislative and policy requirements, and set high standards for both staff and students.
  • Build Capacity: Engage in continuous professional learning and foster a culture of lifelong learning within the school department.
  • Collaborate and Connect: Form strong partnerships with students, parents, staff, community groups, and government agencies to enhance educational opportunities.
  • Strategic and Resourceful Leadership: Plan for the future and effectively manage human, financial, facility, and curriculum resources to achieve departmental goals.
