Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
Ab Initio Developer
for a
6-month contract
based in
Sydney
. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in developing and optimizing
Ab Initio graphs
(both
Continuous Flows
and
Batch
), performance tuning, and source control. As part of an
Agile team
, you will work on high-performance, scalable solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize
    Ab Initio graphs
    (Batch and Continuous Flows) for data integration and ETL processes.
  • Continuously improve graph performance to meet efficiency and scalability requirements.
  • Manage
    source control
    and follow best practices for
    code promotion
    within the Ab Initio environment.
  • Write and optimize
    SQL queries
    for data manipulation and use
    shell scripting
    for process automation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in an
    Agile environment
    to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable.
  • Communicate technical challenges and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of Ab Initio development
    experience (specifically
    Continuous Flows
    and
    Batch processing
    ).
  • Proven expertise in
    performance tuning
    of Ab Initio graphs.
  • Strong proficiency in
    SQL
    (any RDBMS).
  • Basic knowledge of
    shell scripting
    .
  • Experience with
    source control
    (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Solid understanding of
    database concepts
    and
    networking fundamentals
    .
  • Experience working in an
    Agile environment
    .

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with
    real-time applications
    and
    API-driven development
    .
  • Familiarity with
    cloud-hosted Ab Initio solutions
    .
  • Knowledge of
    secure coding practices
    for building resilient and secure solutions.
