As the
Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing (HSEW) Manager
at
Acacia Prison
, you'll lead the delivery of safety, health, and environmental programs that protect more than 550 staff, 1,600 prisoners, and countless visitors. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll shape a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory standards. As an HSEW Manager in the
Acacia Prison
team, you'll make a positive impact by:

  • Partnering with senior leaders to set and deliver the HSEW vision and strategy
  • Driving a proactive safety and wellbeing culture through leadership and engagement
  • Managing compliance with WHS, environmental, and accreditation standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.)
  • Leading risk assessments, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Overseeing injury management, Return-to-Work, and psychosocial wellbeing programs
  • Supporting clinical safety, infection control, and sustainability initiatives across the site

To Be Successful In This Role You'll Have

  • A Diploma in Work, Health & Safety (minimum qualification)
  • In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management frameworks
  • Experience managing safety systems in complex, 24/7 operational environments
  • Strong skills in investigation, incident analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels, from frontline to executive leadership
  • Experience working in correctional, institutional, or high-compliance settings
