We're on the lookout for a dynamic Duty Manager to lead from the floor at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club.
As a key operational leader, you'll be the go-to person on shift — keeping the venue running smoothly, the team engaged, and our members and guests well looked after.
Whether it's motivating the crew, responding to incidents, or lifting service standards, you'll be right in the thick of it. This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, values teamwork, and leads by example — every shift.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the team in delivering exceptional service and setting clear operational standards across all departments.
- Managing people with confidence and empathy — mentoring, developing, and supporting frontline team members in real time.
- Responding to incidents and critical issues as the first point of contact, with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Maintaining a high standard of safety and WHS awareness, ensuring hazards are reported and safe practices are followed.
- Upholding and applying a strong understanding of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) compliance.
- Monitoring and reporting issues, including customer wellbeing, using an "accidental counsellor" approach where appropriate.
- Promoting customer care and check-ins, particularly in gaming and high-interaction areas.
- Completing shift reports, handovers, and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
- Supporting venue operations across all business hours, including overnight, weekends, and public holidays, with consistency and reliability.
- Working collaboratively within a larger Duty Management team and the Venue Leadership Team.
- Being a visible and motivating presence on the floor — the kind of leader others want to follow.
What You'll Bring
- Previous leadership experience in hospitality or club operations.
- Current RSA and RCG (NSW) certificates (essential).
- A passion for people — guests and team members alike.
- Strong knowledge of gaming compliance, WHS, and venue safety.
- Confidence in de-escalating challenging situations and managing critical incidents.
- A hands-on leadership style that inspires accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster and uphold high standards on every shift.
- A professional yet approachable attitude — you're the face of the business during your shift.
