Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Early Childhood Teacher

Hourly Rate: $34.02 to $58.96 per hour (rate dependent on years of experience and validation level)

Closing: Friday 12 September 2025

Part Time (16hrs p/w) - Permanent

Arthur Mawson Kindergarten has an exciting opportunity for an Early Childhood Teacher to lead a team in their kindergarten program on a Monday & Wednesday 8:15am – 4.15pm.

At Arthur Mawson kindergarten we offer a warm and welcoming learning environment. We respect and value each child, their family and their community. We are seeking a teacher capable of supporting our service in delivering a play-based education and care program. This program aims to nurture children's confidence, foster a sense of belonging, cultivate a love of learning, and promote community connectedness. The ideal candidate will create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that facilitates a smooth transition for children from home to our service.

This role is employed under the Early Education Employees Agreement 2020 (EEEA) which includes a 10 week leave model.

Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent recognised by ACECQA)
  • Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
  • Current CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood
