If you're driven by purpose and excited to be part of something bigger, we'd love to have you on the journey.
About the role:

As a Electrical Plant Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facilities. Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and executing electrical maintenance and operational tasks, from routine inspections and preventive maintenance to troubleshooting and repairs. You will work closely with the skilled operations team to minimize downtime, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
In this role, your expertise will directly contribute to the economic and sustainable performance of both plants, helping to maximize output while reducing environmental impact. By applying your technical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving approach, you will help maintain the integrity of critical systems and support the long-term success of our operations.
Responsibilities?
- Perform maintenance and operational tasks on electrical plant and equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with relevant procedures, standards, and legislation.
- Execute routine and non-routine electrical maintenance in accordance with Origin's procedures and operational requirements to support safe and efficient plant performance.
- Participate in the Permit to Work (PTW) system as a competent Permit Acceptor, ensuring safe execution of daily work activities.
- Actively contribute to HSE performance by complying with Origin's Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies, and mandatory training requirements.
- Support continuous improvement and change initiatives, including root cause analysis of incidents and participation in plant outages and project works.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork, applying Origin values to build positive relationships with stakeholders and maintain a collaborative work environment.
What will you bring?
- Current Victorian electrical trade license and a valid "C" Class Driver's Licence.
- Proven experience in CMMS, Permit to Work systems, and supporting plant shutdowns and minor project work.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, investigate, and contribute to the resolution of plant faults, failures, and incidents.
- Sound understanding of HSE procedures and Management of Change processes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and procedures, with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to adapt to changing operational requirements.
