About the role
The Senior Product Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex enterprise systems to support core departmental functions. The role involves providing expert technical advice while proactively escalating and resolving risks or issues impacting service delivery, development, and testing. The responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the full software development lifecycle, ensuring standards compliance and delivery of scalable, cloud-native solutions.
- Developing robust front- and back-end systems, ensuring functionality and fitness for purpose. Having adept knowledge with VueJS will be highly advantageous.
- Automating infrastructure and deployments through CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery in the Azure and AWS cloud environments.
Providing third-level support, troubleshoot issues, and optimising performance in collaboration with vendors.
Maintaining clear, up-to-date technical documentation and knowledge bases.

About you
- Possesses significant knowledge in modern development languages, and integration technologies.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting formal quality assurance testing and supporting user acceptance testing.
- Ability to manage complex ICT projects and achieve project objectives within deadlines.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
