What's the role?

As a Senior Manager in Westpac's Business and Wealth Division, you will be part of the Business, Controls and Monitoring team supporting Strategic Alliances within the Private Wealth business. In this role, you'll provide expert guidance to ensure our systems, processes, and people operate in alignment with our First Line of Defence (1LoD) target state.

This is a full-time position based in Sydney, with flexible working arrangements available. Reporting into the Executive Manager, you'll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality risk insights, lead thematic reviews, support governance and provide timely risk advisory support to Strategic Alliances and Private Wealth across its engagement with 3rd party insurances partners,  advise key projects and support the wider BCM team and Private Wealth business across its banking, lending, wealth, and online share trading functions.

 What do I need?

We're looking for someone who brings deep expertise and a collaborative mindset. You'll need:

  • Strong experience in operational risk and compliance within financial services with previous exposure to General/Life Insurance, Private Banking and / or Wealth including Advice essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including written reporting for senior audiences with proven experience in partnering with the business to achieve key objectives.
  • Detailed understanding of products and services provided customers and supporting processes.
  • Strong data driven analytical skills to support thematic insights including incident and issue management.
  • Strong time management and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Confidence working across regulatory, prudential, and governance frameworks.
