About the role

Alpha Care And Share' is seeking a Disability/Mental Health Support Staff to join our team in Logan Central, Queensland on a casual basis. As a Disability/Mental Health Support Staff, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges, helping them to live independently and engage with their community.

What you'll be doing

  1. Providing personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities, medication management, and social and recreational participation
  2. Implementing individualised support plans to help clients achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life
  3. Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect
  4. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to coordinate holistic care
  5. Maintaining accurate client records and documentation
  6. Promoting a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all clients

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant qualifications in disability services, mental health, or a related field
  2. Experience providing support and care to individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
  4. Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in people's lives
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while adhering to policies, procedures, and safety standards
  6. A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence
