An exciting opportunity to be a full-time Centre Director in a small service.

As the Centre Director you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the service.

Gidgee Kids Early Learning Centre is the only long day care service in Cunnamulla, where a small team of educators create a homely and caring environment for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years to learn and thrive. Cunnamulla is located 790km west of Brisbane, we have regular plane flights, a hospital, two schools, medical centre, hot spring baths and multiple sporting and cultural events. Relocate to our beautiful town and experience the hospitality of the Outback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all centre activities and operations.

  • Communicate regularly with all families in relation to service operations and be available to discuss parent concerns and children's development.

  • Manage all staff by providing guidance and through the facilitation of regular meetings, performance appraisals, staff development plans, recruitment and termination

  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement with all state and commonwealth legislation and requirements.

  • Provide consistent and visible leadership in WH&S behaviours and actions within the team

  • Lead the development and evaluation and continuous improvements to the service

  • Ensure the Centre maintains Quality Assurance accreditation

  • Continuously foster a good relationship with the local community..

Essential Criteria:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification

  • Previous experience in a leadership role in an early learning service

  • A current WWCC for QLD

  • Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQF & NQS

  • A proven ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and make decisions

  • Ability to mentor, coach and work with all educators to meet the requirements of their position

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • A commitment to continuing professional and personal development.
