Located on Sydney's Northern Beaches, this independent school caters for students across Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Pittwater House has a reputation for producing well rounded students through academic rigour and a strong pastoral focus. Pittwater House provides single gender classes on a co-educational campus.
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring teacher to join Pittwater House as our Director of Sport and Student Experience from January 2026. This is a senior leadership role (Leadership Level 3) that provides strategic oversight of the School's Co-curricular Sport, Outdoor Education, and the scheduling of broader Co-curricular programs.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, learner-focused teacher with proven leadership in co-curricular education. They will bring vision, energy, and strong organisational skills to ensure all programs are inclusive, engaging and aligned with the School's values of excellence, wellbeing, and participation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and delivery of the School's Co-curricular Sport program, including representative pathways and performance opportunities.
- Working with external providers to oversee Outdoor Education programs, including camps, Snow Sports, and other experiential learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with Performing Arts and Co-curricular Coordinators to ensure balanced student engagement and scheduling across activities.
- Recruit, mentor and support coaches, staff and external providers, ensuring high-quality program delivery.
- Manage logistics, budgets, and compliance requirements for all Sporting Co-curricular and Outdoor Education programs.
- Promote student wellbeing, participation, and achievement through sport and co-curricular engagement.
- Promote and plan regional and international sporting tours.
- Represent Pittwater House at community events, association meetings, and key school occasions.
- Teach a class, details to be determined pending candidate skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in education and are eligible for NESA Accreditation.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Demonstrated experience leading sport and co-curricular programs in a school setting.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and budget management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire students and staff.
- Current Senior First Aid qualifications.
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
Desirable:
- Experience in coaching or coordinating school sports teams.
- Knowledge of Outdoor Education program design and delivery.
- Familiarity with Independent School Sport pathways and organisations.
- Lead a vibrant and comprehensive Co-curricular program in a supportive school community.
- Enjoy excellent facilities and a collaborative culture on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
- Shape the sporting, cultural and outdoor education experiences of students K-12.
- Attractive remuneration (Leadership Level 3).
