**Join the School of Biomedicine as a NHMRC Grant-Funded Researcher**

We are a leading research intensive and teaching university comprising of five faculties, including the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is comprised of eight schools and several disciplines, research centres and institutes.

The School of Biomedicine is seeking a highly experienced individual to join our team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

The position is funded by our NHMRC Ideas grant “Maturing the preterm lung without damaging the brain” and will be embedded in a collaborative research team across the University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Minimum two (2) years demonstrated experience with animal-based research (maintenance, surgical procedures, in vivo experimental design and implementation) and/or a range of standard immunohistochemical, molecular and cell biology techniques (real-time PCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, hormone assays, DNA/RNA/protein extraction and analysis, bioinformatics) with the ability to rapidly learn new techniques.
- Demonstrated competency in recording, analysing, presenting and disseminating research to stakeholders in relevant fields, as evidenced by national and international conference presentations and publications (commensurate with experience).
- Demonstrated high-level organisational skills to manage competing demands and meet project timelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to follow animal ethics guidelines, biosafety requirements and procedures and/or experience in the safe handling of potentially biological hazards, including but not limited to (human and animal) blood, plasma and tissues.
