Apprentice – Parks & Gardens (Certificate III)

Start your horticulture career Earn while you learn. Location: Kariong depot – Central Coast & Northern Sydney

We're looking for motivated people ready to start a Parks & Gardens Apprenticeship (Cert III) with our growing lawn & garden company.

No experience required — just a good attitude and willingness to learn.

What We Offer

  • Full-time apprenticeship – earn while you study
  • Start 6:30am–7 am, finish ~3:30pm
  • Paid TAFE attendance & support to complete your qualification
  • Training from qualified horticulturists & experienced crew leaders
  • Outdoor, hands-on work every day
  • Cold drinks & ice blocks in the depot fridge for hot days
  • Time-in-lieu (TIL) – can be added to annual leave or used on rain days
  • Career progression into crew leading, horticulture or landscaping
  • Supportive team – mostly crews of 2, with multi-crew days on big sites
  • No public holiday work

About the Job

You will work across a range of lawn and garden maintenance tasks, including:

  • Mowing, edging, whipper snipping
  • Weeding, pruning, mulching
  • Hedge trimming
  • Plant identification & care
  • Assisting with lawn and garden installs
  • Using a smartphone app for photos & job notes
  • Basic equipment cleaning and upkeep

You will be supported daily by experienced team members while attending TAFE to complete your Certificate III in Parks & Gardens.

Who We're Looking For

  • Reliable, motivated and eager to learn
  • Enjoys working outdoors and being active
  • Can follow directions and work well in a team
  • Polite, punctual and well-presented
  • Basic smartphone skills
  • Interest in plants, gardens or hands-on work

Requirements

  • Own transport to Kariong depot
  • Driver's licence preferred (not essential for apprentices)
  • Willing to obtain: WWCC, Police Check, White Card
