The role
Take professional responsibility for paediatric service delivery in the Sleep and Encopresis Vulnerable Child clinic at Desk D on a Thursday morning. Working together with the current CCCH developmental-behavioural medical team, consisting of consultant paediatricians and paediatric advanced trainees.
Fixed term from 2nd February 2026 to 30 June 2027
1 session per week, Thursday am
You will be responsible for:
- Be responsible for clinical service delivery in the CCCH clinics, in line with departmental protocols.
- Contribute to the administration and finance management of the specialty clinic, including timely and accurate data collection, accurate MBS billing, consistently recording diagnoses and problem lists, and using EMR templates to ensure clear, standardised communication with families and referrers
- Contribute to reduction of waiting lists in line with departmental practices by maximising new patient appointments, rational use of follow up appointments and discharge to community services when appropriate.
- Contribute to supervision of Fellows in the Victorian Training Program in Community Child Health by providing direct supervision in clinic and teaching when the opportunity arises
- Contribute to medical student and junior medical staff teaching in the clinical and academic setting
- Contribute to CCCH research, educational and QI activities as appropriate
You will have:
- Current registration as a specialist medical practitioner with AHPRA
- A higher qualification in paediatrics - FRACP or equivalent
- Training and experience in Paediatric Sleep Medicine/ Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics/Community Child Health
- Experience in contemporary medical education and clinical supervision
Desirable:
- Expertise in developmental-behavioural/sleep paediatrics
- Experience with working with families experiencing a range of adversity, and an understanding of trauma-informed approaches to care
