About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Design Assistant to join our Global Head Office team, based in greater Melbourne. This role will be responsible for assisting the product development process across equestrian sportswear, encompassing horse product, riding apparel and rider accessories.

Working as part of our global product team, responsibilities will include:

• Assist the product developers throughout the range development process, from initial concept to delivery.
• Maintain tech packs, range boards, and other product documentation.
• Manage the approval process for all submissions, including lab dips, prints, trims, and fabrics.
• Follow up with suppliers on sample and submissions, by tracking systems.
• Work with production for timely of photography samples, sales samples and seasonal ranges.
• Manage sample discrepancies product development trackers and SMS discrepancy lists to ensure accurate reporting.
• Coordinate and help collate feedback from rider trials of products.
• Support internal communication across global teams, ensuring smooth collaboration between design, marketing, and sales.
• Assist in preparation for product presentations and seasonal launches as required.
• Keep up to date on equestrian market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer needs, contributing ideas for new product innovations.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

• Tertiary qualifications in apparel design (or related field)
• 3 plus years' experience preferred; equestrian would be advantageous but not essential
• Experience in creating and customising technical sketches
• A positive growth-orientated mindset and willingness to learn / grow with the brand
• Experience working with high quality apparel and a keen understanding of premium product expectations
• Excellent organisational skills and proactive problem-solving mindset
• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage timelines and prioritise workload
• Strong, professional work ethic
• Able to work closely with and communicate clearly across teams (design, production, suppliers) and with offshore partners
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
• Strong administrative skills
