  • Assisting drafters to develop the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Make drawings for components and programming these drawings into applicable software, such as ALPHACAM.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement Quality Assurance procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Research and analyse design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Investigate process failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and processes in the Quality Assurance process.
  • Conduct research that tests and analyses the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components and systems; recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Develop, coordinate and monitor the Quality Assurance aspects of production, including a selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication and operation of product designs.
  • Perform personnel functions such as supervision of production workers and design of evaluation programs.
  • Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
  • Study industrial processes to determine where and how the application of equipment can be made, write performance requirements for product development of engineering projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Advanced skills in CAD/CAM software, solidworks, CNC programming, Alphacam.
  • FANUC knowledge preferable.
  • Experience in Engineering Plastic is essential.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards and Regulations relating to mechanical

engineering.

  • Ability to read and understand plans and drawings in imperial and metric

measurements.

  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers and other measurement instruments
