The Role
We have several full-time permanent positions available for Mechanical Fitter to join the ASX-listed Bega group business in Wetherill Park. The role aims to enhance the site's mechanical systems capabilities to increase overall equipment efficiency.
The incumbent must be flexible to work 12.5-hour rotational shifts (Day & and night), including alternative weekends.
Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures fresh and extended shelf-life products, including our short pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products, including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections.- Plan and coordinate the testing and inspection of products and processes, and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy- Ensure all work is carried out per safe engineering practices, as well as legal and food safety requirements.- Understand benchmarking and implement plans for continuous improvement opportunities- Prioritize safety above all else and support a safety-first culture
About you- Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Equivalent or higher.-
- Previous experience working with dairy processing, liquid mixing or powder handling equipment, that may include, pumps, valves, heat exchangers and tanks.- Previous experience working in an environment that utilised high-speed packaging equipment, fillers, cappers, labellers, case packers and palletisers will be highly regarded.- Strong problem-solving skill - faut finding and root cause of breakdowns. Ability to work independently as well as work in a team.
