SLR has a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to lead the Planning & Assessment business as the Service Line Director. The Planning & Assessment Service Line provides multi-disciplinary consulting services to support our clients and meet sustainability and project goals. Our team provides services across industry including renewables, infrastructure, mining and built environment spaces. You will be well connected in the industry, able to bring many disciplines together by collaborating effectively with others and have excellent commercial acumen. You will be able to demonstrate you can comfortably connect with other senior leaders to help them in areas of Clients, People & Culture and WHS. We Have a Great Reputation And Success In The Planning & Assessment Team. The Current Service Line Director Has Been In The Position For a Few Years And Will Remain In The Business In a Different Capacity. Our Teams That Make Up This Service Line Are

The Planning & Assessment Service Line is a team of approximately 170+ talented and passionate individuals The National leads of the technical teams within the service line report to this Service Line Director role... You will enjoy a smooth transition and handover from the existing Service Line Director who has done a great job in their tenure for a warm welcome to the business.
Job Tasks And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Manager, you will be responsible for leading activities in the service line operation to ensure successful project delivery, sustainable business performance and a "one team" approach. You will have a range of project, financial and health and safety responsibilities include:
- Leading a multi-disciplinary team, day-to-day operations, as well as nurturing and growing technical discipline diversity and key client relationships.
- Play an important organisational leadership role, through setting standards in client service and quality, constructive and collaborative behaviour, as well as proactively building team culture and championing SLR values.
- Strategise and implement business development and marketing efforts to further diversify the Service Line, grow a sustainable high performing business and boost SLR's brand recognition and position SLR as a Planning & Approvals market leader.
- Ensures Operation's Work in Hand (WIH) pipeline is accurately reported and actively managed
- Responsible for preparing annual Service Line budget including relevant Technical Disciplines (for approval by Regional Manager)
- Responsible for managing Operation's working capital in line with agreed targets
- Actively works with other Service Lines and supports other Regional Service Line Directors in ensuring workload balancing and efficient working across technical discipline teams and the region
- Works with Regional Sector Leaders to prioritise work winning activity in accordance with agreed Sector and Client priorities
- Contributes to the development of the regional business plan which includes assessing business risk, growth opportunities and resourcing requirements
- Promotes SLR Health and Safety culture through proactive safety leadership and staff engagement

- Established network in the APAC region with a track record of strategic business growth and client relationship management
- Demonstrated experience across a diverse range of industry sectors and clients
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, good organisation skills and attention to detail
- Relevant field Post-graduate qualification/s are advantageous
- Understanding of project management and financial management and processes
- Actively supports others, recognising that others' role objectives, perspectives and challenges may be different from their own
- The ability to build rapport quickly with other senior managers and technical discipline managers within their group
- An ability to mentoring staff and setting clear career development pathways, supporting staff as necessary and lead commercial aspects of proposals
- Willingness to travel interstate
