The opportunity and your impact
As our highly valued Director, Finance you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will have the opportunity to advance the agency's financial and procurement strategies, and a key contributor on cross-functional projects. As a forward thinker strategically and operationally, you'll look to take a great team to the next level in providing outstanding financial and procurement services across a global public sector organisation. This position requires a breadth of operational experience, preferably with exposure to international working environments to sustainably deliver right-sized, financial risk management, budget management, grants management, procurement, and contract management services.
Based in Brisbane, here's what your role will involve:
Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage TIQ's Financial and Procurement functions, including financial budgeting and forecasting, financial accounting and operations, procurement and contract management while developing contemporary solutions to mitigate emerging risks.
- Provide leadership, strategic advice and direction to a high performing team, fostering a professional environment which encourages commitment to ethical behaviour, skills development, and continuous improvement.
Technical
- Provide high level strategic advice and analysis to the TIQ Board, Audit, Finance and Risk Management Committee, CEO, CFO and members of the Executive Leadership Team on all aspects of financial management and procurement.
- Develop contemporary finance and procurement strategies to facilitate innovative service delivery solutions across the agency's operations, considering current and emerging business realities, opportunities and threats, and contribute to preparation of business cases.
Project Management
- Lead the development and implementation of Finance and Procurement projects and business information management systems that lead to significant improvements in business capability and outcomes.
- Oversee outsourced service provider and contractor arrangements to ensure service delivery and project objectives against agreed standards are delivered on time and within budget.
Relationship Management
- Champion and strengthen collaborative relationships at all levels throughout the agency, encompassing the Brisbane Head Office, Queensland regional and international Office networks.
- Maintain strong links to other government agencies and sector stakeholders to support the continual evolvement of contemporary people and culture practices.
