Practice Nurse

We are a new family owned practice based at Annerley. Sirona Women's Health is a General Practice for women.  We pride ourselves on our outstanding patient-centered approach and friendly, calm environment. We are a full service general practice offering everything from immunisations to chronic disease management however we specialise in women's health. We have a special interest in contraception, pregnancy, fertility and menopause.  We strive to provide a respectful, enjoyable, fun work environment where patient care is central.  Our practice is open between 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday and 9am – 12 midday on Saturday.  The registered nurse role is required between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday. Part time hours are negotiable.

Key duties:

Provide adult immunisations

Facilitate chronic disease management, including the development of Chronic disease management plans and health assessments

Supporting our GPs with conducting patient observations and procedures, for example suture removal, wound care and dressing, ECGs, Spirometry, Iron infusions, Implanon and Mirena insertions

Undertake daily maintenance of the treatment and consulting rooms, manage stock inventory and medical equipment

Administrative tasks such as managing recalls, clinical reminders and the patient record

Sterilising equipment

Support the practice to meet accreditation requirements

What you need to succeed:

1.     Current registration with APHRA as a registered nurse

2.     Previous GP experience highly regarded

3.     Ability to work independently without supervision, as well as part of a team

4.     Strong verbal and written communication skills

5.     Proficient clinical  nursing skills, including wound care, immunisation administration, care planning and health assessments. Experience with IUD insertion and iron infusions desirable but not essential

6.     Demonstrated administrative and digital literacy skills including maintaining records and using Microsoft office suite

7.     Demonstrated ability in using Best Practice or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills

8.     Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of health promotion and health education activities

What we offer:

Salary $40-45/hr (depending on qualifications and experience)

No weekends or public holidays
