Maintenance Electrician – Location Storm Bay Workshop

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our Engineering and Maintenance team. This hands-on role is essential in supporting repairs and preventative maintenance across our net cleaning and ROV equipment, both on land and at sea.

You will be responsible for fault finding, maintaining a comprehensive range of spare parts and ensuring our vessels and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform General Electric repairs and maintenance across plant, vessels and equipment
  • Compete preventative maintenance schedules
  • Manage and maintain net cleaning equipment, generators, sub boards, and voltage regulation systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults
  • Ensure work meets specifications and quality standards
  • Identify and mitigate hazards and WHS risks
  • Participate in training and development activities

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 3 years post trade experience
  • Australian 'A' Grade Electrical licence
  • Current and valid drivers licence
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage projects end to end
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Desirable Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Optical fibre experience
  • Experience with DC/AC systems
  • PLC programming, VSD's, gensets, AKVA FNC8's
  • Coxswain certification or the ability to obtain
  • Familiarity with Huon's policies and procedures
