We're seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to provide expert-level support and guidance across enterprise data centre and infrastructure environments. The role involves both project delivery and operational support, maintaining the stability, performance, and security of critical systems across on-prem and virtualised platforms.

This position suits someone who's confident working across physical infrastructure, virtual environments, and large-scale systems — with strong technical depth and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Upcoming Project Work

  • Replacement of virtualisation platform (currently VMware-based) to a new solution.
  • Implementation of a new on-prem storage solution.
  • Support for estate management and capital works projects (new buildings and refurbishments).
  • Migration of monitoring tools from legacy to modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain physical servers, storage systems, and infrastructure hardware.
  • Monitor system performance and health, proactively addressing issues to minimise downtime.
  • Operate and maintain data centre environments including power, cooling, and cabling systems.
  • Review and contribute to passive infrastructure designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Support capital works and infrastructure projects, providing technical input and design oversight.
  • Participate in infrastructure lifecycle management including upgrades, refreshes, and migrations.
  • Oversee contractors during installation and commissioning phases to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, asset records, and configuration details.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing enterprise server and data centre environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Dell infrastructure and related storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, OpenManage Enterprise, StruxureWare, or NetTerrain.
  • Strong understanding of data centre operations, structured cabling, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Experience reviewing or contributing to passive infrastructure designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
