About the role

As a Graduate Accountant at Jacob Toyota, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations and strategic growth of our dynamic automotive dealership. In this full-time position based in Wodonga, VIC, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and develop hands-on experience in all facets of accounting and financial reporting. You will report directly to the Financial Controller.

What you'll be doing

  • Aid in reconciling accounts, including bank statements and general ledger accounts
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance reports
  • Assist with audits, budget preparation, and other financial tasks
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc accounting projects and tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) are desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Availability to occasionally visit other business locations
