We are currently seeking applications for a Senior Consultant – Industry Participation, to join The Office of the Industry Advocate in The Department of Treasury and Finance for a period until 30 June 2025

Remuneration: ASO6 – Salary Range $90k - $109k

About the opportunity:

The Senior Consultant – Industry Participation reports to the Senior Manager, Business and Change and is accountable for the successful implementation of the South Australian Industry Participation Policy (SAIPP), the SAIPP Procedural Guidelines, and approved documentation, including Industry Participation Plans (IPPs) as authorised by the Industry Advocate.

About you

As the Senior Consultant – Industry Participation, you will collaborate closely with the Office of the Industry Advocate team to deliver high-quality, professional services on behalf of the South Australian Government. In this role, you will provide expert advice and guidance on the implementation of the SAIPP, working with a diverse range of stakeholders across both the public and private sectors, including those involved in South Australian Government and local government procurement and grant processes.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and accurately, both in writing and verbally. You will engage professionally and diplomatically with stakeholders at all levels, with expertise in consulting, liaising, influencing, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with tact.
• Be comfortable navigating ambiguous or incomplete information, using your experience to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring confidentiality and reliability in all aspects of your work.

• The Office of the Industry Advocate (OIA) supports the Industry Advocate, a Statutory Officer, in fulfilling the functions outlined in the Industry Advocate Act The OIA plays a key role in ensuring the effective implementation of the SAIPP and the associated SAIPP Procedural Guidelines.
• The SAIPP aims to generate both direct and indirect economic benefits for the State through government procurement and grant processes. It supports broader government goals such as local job creation, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) participation in government contracts, Aboriginal employment, innovation, social and environmental outcomes, and the promotion of apprenticeships and training opportunities.
