What’s the job?

Reporting to Gareth Mayo, Senior Success Coach, the purpose of the Success Coach/Industry Consultant - Hospitality is to support and motivate students for study and career success, helping them to secure placements, internships and opportunities in internal enterprises, as well as developing new and existing industry relationships which will assist students to secure high quality and relevant work opportunities during their studies. This role merges both Success Coach and Industry Consultant duties into one portfolio.

The Success Coach/Industry Consultant - Hospitality is responsible for developing new and existing industry engagement opportunities and partnerships for students and the vertical. These will include work-integrated learning opportunities for current students (including but not limited to professional placements and live briefs), employment opportunities for current students and alumni, B2B/B2B2C opportunities including promotion of the vertical’s product offerings, and research collaboration opportunities.

The role requires flexibility as duties and areas of responsibility may be changed in accordance with changing business needs and priorities, within the Industry team. The role may require to work outside of normal working hours to attend events or meet required deadlines.

Day-to-day accountabilities:
- Work with Academic teams to take custody of a cohort of students in a designated geographic area, documenting their career goals and ambitions and building their employability skills- Deliver and host relevant workshops and group activities to assist students to identify and play to their specific strengths and capabilities and achieve academic success- Setting up coaching conversations, reaching out to students to make sure they’re on track, advising students on progression through their course- Marking of Work Integrated Learning Student Self Reflective assessments on completion of Industry Practicum each academic term.- Work in partnership with the Program Director to deliver accredited curricula that develops students’ career management and employability skills, including resume / cover letter / interview / portfolio preparation, preparing for Work Integrated Learning and finding placements, industry and employer research, professional associations, professional practice, TGE Professional Assessment and personal branding- For each incoming intake of new students, work closely with Course and Careers Advisers to see students safely through their high-risk first 12 weeks by: participating in Orientation and monitoring student forums, helping students to document their career and study goals, connect students with academic and professional staff, contributing to the broader immersive learning strategy.
