Talius is seeking a hands-on Technical Systems Engineer to drive the technical configuration, deployment, and commissioning of our software platform and infrastructure across aged care and hospital environments. This role is critical to ensuring our clients achieve smooth, reliable, and compliant go-lives.
The Engineer will sit at the intersection of delivery and technology, working directly with clients and internal teams to bring our solutions into full operation.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and configuration of Talius software, services, and IoT infrastructure in client environments.
- Execute end-to-end delivery, including environment setup, backend configuration, validation, and system commissioning.
- Manage device integrations (RTLS, nurse call, monitoring systems) and ensure robust API connectivity.
- Perform SQL and MongoDB tasks: querying, data validation, and light administration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during rollout and early post-deployment phases.
- Document technical delivery steps and provide clear handovers to Support and Operations.
- Act as the technical counterpart in client-facing discussions, building trust and confidence.
- Work with Delivery Managers, Product Owners, and Support Engineers to align deployments with client requirements and timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in project engineering, systems engineering, or IT delivery roles.
- Hands-on experience commissioning systems in aged care, hospitals, or other regulated environments.
- Strong application deployment and backend configuration experience across Linux and/or Windows.
- Solid understanding of API integrations and ability to perform basic scripting.
- Practical experience with SQL and MongoDB (data validation, troubleshooting).
- Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to perform under time pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document clearly.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, automation, infrastructure as code).
- Understanding of networking, secure system design, and containerisation.
- Experience with healthcare-specific platforms such as nurse call, RTLS, or monitoring solutions.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and deployment methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform/Ansible) are highly regarded but not mandatory.
