Glowing Structures is an international award-winning, Creative Lighting Design Consultancy in the heart of South Yarra VIC. We have vibrant, creative team of lighting designers from various backgrounds who have built a reputation for providing unique architectural lighting design services with innovation, ability and effectiveness. We work hard as a team but also have a relaxed and fun work environment that prioritises work/ life balance and a good laugh.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Lighting Designer to join our team.

THE ROLE

  • Initial client interaction and client interface throughout the project.

  • High level of ability to effectively manage workloads and timelines of projects.

  • Documentation/ designs at all project stages under the supervision of Director and Design-Lead.

  • Preparation of AutoCAD and REVIT drawings and lighting specifications for documenter/ junior designers.

  • Issuing documentation in Aconex.

  • Undertaking lighting calculations and lighting modelling.

  • Checking documentation prior to issuing.

  • Full-Time position available.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proven background in previous Senior position.

  • Ability to thrive in a creative fast changing design-led work environment.

  • Strong eye for detailing and implementation of ideas.

  • Efficient, autonomous and ability to manage time and tasks effectively and within deadlines.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (essential).

  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Indesign, SketchUp.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and actively participate in projects with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to produce lighting specifications and controls documentation.

  • Ability to simultaneously work on and project manage a numerous projects and tasks.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

  • Design background qualification in Architecture, Design, Industrial design or similar.

  • Demonstration of project and time management

SALARY – Dependent on experience.
