Brief Description
The role
The Pricing Analyst will support the Pricing team and company on insurance pricing decisions through robust, accurate and timely data driven analysis. The Pricing Analyst is a highly technical role and will support the end-to-end pricing of our insurance products. through data preparation, analysis, modelling, technical review and presenting insights to management

Position Accountabilities
To undertake tasks as directed by senior members of the team efficiently, thoroughly, with due care and minimal mistakes. This includes:

  • Understanding sources of data, its limitations and common uses within the team
  • Managing and manipulating very large data sets
  • Conducting technical analysis as directed, including building predictive models
  • Drawing insights and providing recommendations on next steps
  • Explaining work and communicate findings to senior management
  • Performing regular reporting
  • Implementing, testing and monitoring pricing changes

Other

  • Perform other reasonable and relevant activities as requested from time to time to meet operational requirements.
  • Adhere to all pricing policies and procedures
  • Test IT changes and effectively identify potential issues before go-live
  • Test and sign-off address file updates by IT
  • Take all reasonable directions from leaders to comply with the organisation's workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols. WHS is everyone's responsibility

Qualifications and Experience

  • Analytical Mindset
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Programming knowledge (e.g. SAS, R, SQL)
  • Degree qualified in mathematics, actuarial studies or similar
  • Progressing through actuarial examinations is viewed favourably
