The Role
The Aunty Grace Clinical Governance Manager is a critical role in the provision of evidence-based, safe, effective, high-quality care to our clients in the Aunty Grace Community.
The primary purpose of this important role is to assume responsibility for the ongoing management of a robust Clinical Governance Framework that provides guidance and direction to all stakeholders on regulatory compliance, policy, evidence-based practice, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement. As part of the Quality and Practice Department the Clinical Governance Manager is ultimately responsible for high level monitoring of quality care practice, identification of gaps, opportunities for improvement, risks and remediation recommendations and/or actions.
With the implementation of the new Aged Care Act 2024, the associated rules, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and new Support at Home Program, Aunty Grace is in the early stages of implementing a new operational structure which includes a Clinical Care Support Manager and Clinical Care partners. It is an important part of the Clinical Governance Manager's role to work closely with the Clinical Care Support Manager to provide guidance and support in working within the Clinical Care Framework and the ongoing development, implementation and improvement of processes and resources.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
· Tertiary qualifications in Registered Nursing, current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and ongoing requirement to maintain currency of registration.
· At least five years' experience working in clinical management, clinical governance or clinical quality and oversight in the Aged Care sector.
· Demonstrated understanding of the new Aged Care Act 2024, the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Support at Home Program, and a commitment to embedding best practice and compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
· The ability to interpret compliance requirements and research, develop and implement evidence based best practice policy and resources to support the delivery of high-quality care.
· Demonstrated leadership experience.
· Experience in working with Quality Management Systems – Incident Management, Complaints and Feedback, Continuous Improvement, Quality Indicators, Internal Assurance activities, Document Management etc.
· Demonstrated experience in monitoring, analysing and reporting on key indicators and outcomes relating to the provision of High-Quality Care – particularly with a focus on clinical care.
· Willingness to act and be registered as a 'Responsible Person' with the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing as the key person responsible for clinical/nursing services at Aunty Grace.
· A professional, courteous and friendly communication style and ability to work autonomously.
· A collaborative, problem-solving approach to working with team members, workers & commercial partners, and other internal and external stakeholders
· A flexible and adaptable approach that embraces continuous improvement and change, and contributes to Aunty Grace's growth
Desirable:
· Experience in the Home Care Package environment
· Qualifications in Clinical Governance

· A National Criminal History Check / Police Check (working without supervision with vulnerable people) showing no disclosable Court Outcomes or Convictions. *
· If since turning 16, you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia, a signed statutory declaration stating you have not been convicted of murder or sexual assault or convicted of and sentenced to imprisonment for any other form of assault. *
· Any other required screening to enable registration as a 'Responsible Person'*
· Vaccination status - We require proof of the initial 2 COVID Vaccinations and strongly encourage COVID boosters and an annual influenza vaccination
· A current, valid Australian Driver's License
· Excellent references from two relevant work-related referees
