CIVIL SITE ENGINEER

Smoothy Contracting is a successful earthmoving, civil construction and agricultural services contractor predominantly working within the Southern Bowen Basin of Queensland. In response to recent tendering success and growth of the business, we are now seeking a Civil Site Engineer to support site construction activities on civil projects in the surrounding areas.

This position will focus on supporting the success of projects involving earthworks, road construction, drainage, services reticulation and civil structures.

About the role

As Site Engineer, you will be accountable for:

  • Assisting with planning and programming activities to ensure the most efficient use of resources
  • Conducting project works in accordance with safety, environment, specification, design and contractual requirements
  • Tracking and reporting on project costs
  • Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements within project planning and delivery
  • Assisting with the development of project forecasts and reports
  • Supporting supervisors in the management of personnel and subcontractors to satisfy budgets, quality, safety and programme requirements
  • Assisting with the development of project estimates and tenders
  • Demonstrating and encouraging safety leadership behaviours.

About you

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Safety as a core value
  • 12 months+ post graduate construction project experience
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • The capacity to develop relationships and influence at all levels
