Shellharbour Council has an opportunity for an experienced Community Engagement Officer to join our Communications team working on a range of engagement projects that result in an active and connected community. Utilising skills and experience, you will develop, design and implement engagement programs, surveys and online engagement activities. Additionally, you will conduct statistical analysis of resident feedback and compile high quality analytical and interpretive reports.

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills by establishing a positive working relationship with a broad range of stakeholders as well as developing broad ranging communications and engagement strategies to promote Council's projects, priorities and services to help maintain the integrity and accuracy of information to the community. You will be able to identify emerging critical issues and develop and implement issues management strategies in conjunction with the Communications team.

Our ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for engagement, a strategic thinker, a great team player and must have significant and broad experience in the design and delivery of engagement campaigns and programs.

  • Temporary full time, 35 hours per week with access to flexi-time, up to 12 months (parental leave) with possible extension
  • Commencing salary range from $77, $80,818.40 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
