With continued expansion and development within our Engineering department located in Forrestfield, we are excited to announce an opportunity for an Engineering Master Data Specialist to become a valued member of our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all part records, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and methods of manufacturing (MOM) are properly defined and maintained to support efficient manufacturing and supply chain operations, enabling seamless downstream processes across the organisation.
This position is:
- Monday to Friday local role
- Full-time permanent position
- Immediate start
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and update part master records including descriptions, units of measure, costing methods, and classifications to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure accuracy of method of manufacturing (MOM) including routings, operations, and resource allocation within the ERP system.
- Validate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) to reflect engineering changes and production requirements, ensuring alignment with current manufacturing processes.
- Enforce data governance policies including naming conventions, revision control, and data entry standards across all master data elements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to implement engineering change orders (ECOs),ensuring seamless integration of changes.
- Conduct periodic audits to identify and correct data inconsistencies, obsolete records, and potential process improvements.
- Support ERP projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to master data management and system optimisation.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant personnel on master data standards and best practices.
- Generate reports and analytics on master data quality metrics and present findings to management.
- Maintain documentation of processes, procedures, and data governance standards.
- Collaborate with IT/ERP administrators to resolve system-related data issues and implement system enhancements.
- Support new product introductions by establishing accurate master data records from concept through to production.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as directed by your manager to support the overall goals and success of the organisation.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Analytics or related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing data management, industrial engineering, or data analytics within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems or data management platforms.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM structures, and production routing concepts.
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience with change management processes and engineering change orders.
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data quality management, and process improvement.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
