Our Opportunity

Due to strong growth and continued demand, NEPEAN Power is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Projects Estimator to join our Thornton team. This is a pivotal role in driving future opportunities, strengthening customer partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, competitive, and high-quality tenders.

Reporting to the Products Division Manager, you will play a key role in supporting NEPEAN Power's ability to secure major projects.

Your Role

You will be responsible for:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to assess scope, risk, and complexity.
• Preparing accurate quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
• Providing upfront design input to ensure competitive and compliant offers.
• Liaising directly with customers on technical, functional, and commercial matters.
• Assisting with high-level negotiations, submissions, and proposals.
• Maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships to enhance NEPEAN's market presence.
• Monitoring and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all quotations.
• Contributing to business development initiatives, including identifying customer requirements and emerging opportunities.
• Mentoring and supporting junior staff within the estimating and business development teams.

The Right Person

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Significant experience as an estimator within the electrical, mining, resources, or industrial manufacturing industries.
• Formal trade or tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, estimating, or project management.
• Strong knowledge of mining and industrial switchboard manufacture, installation, or maintenance.
• Exceptional commercial and technical acumen with the ability to assess risks and deliver accurate costings.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust with customers and stakeholders.
• A proactive and professional attitude, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and organisational skills.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
