Randstad is partnering with a local engineering and project management consultancy known for delivering essential infrastructure. This is a unique role combining strategic project oversight with hands-on site authority.

This local Tasmanian consultancy has earned a solid reputation for specialising in the vital infrastructure that keeps the island connected and running smoothly. Since its inception, the firm has leveraged deep local knowledge to deliver expert engineering and project management services, with a distinct focus on the civil, structural, and maritime sectors.
While rooted in Tasmania, their capability and specialist advice have seen them expand their reach, successfully undertaking complex projects interstate and even overseas, effectively exporting Tasmanian engineering expertise to a wider national and international market.
About The Opportunity
This dual function requires an exceptional individual who can seamlessly transition between the boardroom and the construction site.
Key Responsibilities
- Contractual Management: Act as the independent under complex construction contracts, while administering all aspects including valuations, variations, and payment certifications.
- Project Management: Own the end-to-end management of multimillion dollar projects in the civil, structural, and maritime sectors, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality completion.
- Site Management: Direct and oversee all on-site operational activities, ensuring strict adherence to WHS, quality assurance, and environmental standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage and foster positive relationships with government clients, design consultants, subcontractors, and authorities, acting as the key communication bridge.
- Commercial Acumen: Develop, control, and report on project financial performance, proactively managing commercial risks and opportunities.
About You
- A minimum of 10 years proven experience in either a Project Management or Superintendent role, within the Australian civil, structural, or infrastructure sectors
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Vast understanding of Australian Standards contracts and an unshakeable commitment to safety and quality.
- Strong verbal and written skills
