About the role

The role is crucial to the overall success of our comprehensive project management framework. It involves implementing a well-defined project methodology and adhering to disciplined practices to ensure the seamless and agile execution of the City of Hobart's capital works program. 

Role Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Engagement: Understand and engage with the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring programs enable the sustainable achievement of Council objectives and the aspirations of the community.Informed Decision-Making: Undertake sound research to ensure decisions and advice are informed, strategically aligned, and integrated across the organisation.Alignment with Strategic Plans: Align your work to strategic plans and budgets, incorporating broad organisational priorities, goals, and objectives that deliver on the City Plan and Greater Hobart 2050.Contextual Understanding: Apply an understanding of the political, social, and legal environment and organisational context of the Council to all initiatives and actions.Advisory Role: Provide peak-level advice to key stakeholders and broader resources within the Council, enabling greater leverage and synergies in the design of projects.Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify strategic threats and opportunities that could impact the organisation.

About you
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. This role is integral to the overarching success of our end-to-end project management framework, ensuring a seamless and agile implementation of the City of Hobart's capital works program.
What will you bring: 

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor Degree in Project Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).  Current Drivers Licence.Demonstrated and significant senior level experience in applying the appropriate project management methodology in the delivery of projects is essential.
