The Role
As the ICT Project Manager, you will lead, manage and plan ICT initiatives and projects that support the effective and efficient delivery of ICT services to TasPorts stakeholders. You'll play a pivotal role in driving strategic technology outcomes across the organisation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement project plans and schedules for agreed ICT projects, managing activities and budgets in line with TasPorts' project management methodology.
- Provide leadership in the design, development and execution of project strategies, representing the project team in meetings and forums.
- Deliver regular progress and financial reports to the Program Manager/Project Sponsor/Steering Committee, and prepare high-quality documentation to monitor performance and expenditure.
- Lead high-level project activities and decisions to ensure successful delivery of ICT project outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance processes for change, capacity, and configuration management.
- Resolve issues through innovative problem-solving and contribute to the implementation of effective solutions.
- Maintain robust project management tools including risk, issue, and dependency registers to ensure milestones are met and risks are proactively managed.
- Facilitate timely, accurate, and understandable exchange of information between the project team and stakeholders to ensure alignment, promote collaboration, and drive successful outcomes.

- Proven experience in managing complex ICT projects with measurable outcomes.
- Strong leadership capabilities in guiding multi-disciplinary teams and managing resources effectively.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to implement strategic solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Financial acumen in managing and reporting on project budgets.
- Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
What you will have
Essential:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in ICT Project Management and a minimum of 5 years' equivalent experience.
- Eligibility to acquire and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card.
Desirable:
- Accreditation and hands-on experience with project methodologies such as Prince2 and Agile.
- Experience leading large-scale ICT projects and teams.
- Experience with the management of change on projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project)
- A current unrestricted Tasmanian driver's licence.
