Alexander Symonds is an established professional surveying consultancy based in Norwood with strong coverage across metro and regional areas of South Australia and Victoria.

With approximately 200 staff, we specialize in all forms of surveying including land division, construction, high precision engineering, 3D laser scanning and RPAS services.

We currently have an opportunity to join our team in the position of Drafting Manager with expert technical knowledge and strong leadership skills to encourage and manage a varied team including those with professional expertise in their field.

You will work closely with Project and Team Managers regarding small and large scale, complex surveying projects, contributing directly to the success and accuracy of our client deliverables.

Responsibilities:

·       Lead the team by nurturing talent and providing team members with tools, knowledge and support they need to excel.

·       Manage drafting operations to ensure the successful delivery of all drafting projects to the highest professional standards.

·       Ensure resourcing and development is appropriate to accommodate current and future needs

·       Provision of expert technical knowledge to large clients for complex projects

·       Contribute at a strategic level to the continuous professional development of the team.

·       Draft various surveying-related plans, including but not limited to Topographic, Architectural, Engineering, and Cadastral Plans.

·       Assist in reviewing and interpreting 3D survey data for CAD plan presentation.

Qualifications:

·       Qualities required to lead, development and motivate individuals and foster a high performing and positive team.

·       Expert knowledge of cadastral and land titling processes

·       Expert drafting skills specifically AutoCAD and Liscad software

·       An understanding of coordinate systems in a CAD environment

Desirable:

·       Previous experience in a leadership role

·       Familiarity with architectural and engineering plans.

·       Experience with point clouds and 3D models.
