We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Simulation Engineer with advanced expertise in AnyLogic to help grow Hatch's dynamic simulation practice based in Perth, supporting projects across the Australia-Asia (AUA) region.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Science, and possess strong capabilities in conducting simulation studies using AnyLogic. A passion for leading and developing a high-performing simulation team is essential.
Located in Hatch's Global Delivery Centre in Perth, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our simulation capabilities across mining, processing, infrastructure, energy, and heavy industry sectors. You'll also collaborate closely with our Digital team to deliver cutting-edge Optimisation, Decision-Support, and AI-driven solutions for our clients worldwide.

Your role will be to work with the AUA regional simulation lead to develop the simulation practice by undertaking the following responsibilities:
- Develop new and enhance existing client relationships
- Formulate business development strategies and related marketing material and engage with clients to create new business opportunities
- Develop and deliver client proposals to win new work
- Set up, manage, and deliver simulation studies and related software projects to meet client expectations
- Recruit, train and manage new simulation engineers to develop a local team
- Liaise with the local Digital leadership to develop and deliver new business in software solutions
While building the local simulation team, you will also be responsible for conducting dynamic simulation studies and related software projects. In addition to your leadership duties, this includes the following activities:
- Analyse operational and design data
- Undertake observations and time studies in industrial and mining operations
- Perform analytical calculations
- Develop spreadsheet models
- Develop dynamic simulation models using AnyLogic and Java
- Undertake analytical and simulation studies that consider design and operating options to maximise capital returns, reduce operating costs, or improve production output
- Compile reports on technical content and findings
- Present outcomes to project teams, clients and other stakeholders
- Develop marketing material such as presentations and demonstrations
- Present papers at conferences
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
