The Zero Harm Projects & Governance Specialist role will support the delivery of strategic and operational safety initiatives across the Transport & Infrastructure business. You'll help drive a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and simplification in safety practices. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about influencing positive change. This role offers national flexibility and can be performed from any major city in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Zero Harm strategies, governance frameworks, and risk management programs.
- Lead and contribute to safety culture initiatives, training content, and performance reporting.
- Analyse safety data and trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with operational leaders and Zero Harm Business Partners to embed best practices.
- Facilitate change management, training, and communication across the business.
- Support compliance with legislation, standards, and Downer's internal Zero Harm systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including clients, regulators, and industry groups.
What You'll Bring
- Advanced Diploma in WHS, business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in Health & Safety, with at least 2 years in a change management role.
- Experience in high-risk environments and knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with safety systems.
- ICAM investigation training and Lead Auditor qualifications (desirable).
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
- A drive for performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels.
