Position Type: Full Time ​

Our client is seeking a skilled Farm Hand to join their thriving family-owned agricultural operation in the heart of the Isaac Region, spanning 2,200 hectares of dryland cropping and 1,200 hectares of grazing. Working both independently and alongside the owner, the successful candidate work across all aspects of the property.

Daily duties include:

  • Participate in all aspects of the annual cropping cycle, focusing on wheat, chickpeas, and sorghum
  • Operate and maintain John Deere equipment and self-propelled spray rigs
  • Perform mechanical work and general welding/fabrication tasks
  • Support the cattle enterprise, including breeding and supporting the transition to a trading operation
  • All other farm maintenance as required, including infrastructure maintenance, fencing and water management

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in dryland cropping, specifically using John Deere equipment and self-propelled spray rigs
  • Mechanical knowledge and general fabrication skills
  • Proficiency in machinery operation
  • Familiarity with Autosteer GPS systems
  • Spraying experience (advantageous)
  • MC Licence or willingness to obtain (advantageous)
  • Chemical certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

The successful candidate will be provided with a comfortable air conditioned two-bedroom cottage, with a school bus service at the doorstep for primary schooling. Clermont, a well-serviced community, is just 70km away, and partners may have opportunities for intermittent casual work within the business.
