About the role
We're looking for an Accommodation Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of our on-site staff accommodation facilities located in Lakeland, FNQ.
In this key role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accommodation is clean, functional, and welcoming — creating a home away from home for our team. From managing day-to-day operations to coordinating maintenance and supporting Mackays employees, contractors and guests, you'll play a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing:- Overseeing all aspects of accommodation site operations — rooms, common areas, and grounds
- Managing stock levels of supplies, linen, and consumables
- Keeping records of occupancy, incidents, maintenance, and compliance
- Ensuring the site meets all health, safety, and building regulations
- Leading regular inspections and addressing maintenance needs quickly
- Acting as the go-to person for staff and guests staying on-site
- Coordinating room allocations and ensuring smooth check-ins for incoming staff
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Promoting a respectful, safe, and inclusive living environment
- Driving residents to appointments and shopping trips in the site vehicle or bus
What we're looking for
- 2 years' experience in accommodation management or a senior hospitality role, or relevant
- Not afraid to be hands-on and jump in to fix things as needed
- A good understanding of housing rules, safety, and compliance—especially in farming or rural areas is a bonus, but not a must
- Comfortable working with people from all kinds of backgrounds and creating a friendly, respectful vibe
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritise workload and meet set timelines
- Able to work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Must have an open driver's license
- Willing to get an MR license within 6 months (we'll cover the cost) and drive MR vehicles
