About the role

We're looking for an Accommodation Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of our on-site staff accommodation facilities located in Lakeland, FNQ.

In this key role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accommodation is clean, functional, and welcoming — creating a home away from home for our team. From managing day-to-day operations to coordinating maintenance and supporting Mackays employees, contractors and guests, you'll play a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Overseeing all aspects of accommodation site operations — rooms, common areas, and grounds
  2. Managing stock levels of supplies, linen, and consumables
  3. Keeping records of occupancy, incidents, maintenance, and compliance
  4. Ensuring the site meets all health, safety, and building regulations
  5. Leading regular inspections and addressing maintenance needs quickly
  6. Acting as the go-to person for staff and guests staying on-site
  7. Coordinating room allocations and ensuring smooth check-ins for incoming staff
  8. Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  9. Promoting a respectful, safe, and inclusive living environment
  10. Driving residents to appointments and shopping trips in the site vehicle or bus

What we're looking for

  • 2 years' experience in accommodation management or a senior hospitality role, or relevant
  • Not afraid to be hands-on and jump in to fix things as needed
  • A good understanding of housing rules, safety, and compliance—especially in farming or rural areas is a bonus, but not a must
  • Comfortable working with people from all kinds of backgrounds and creating a friendly, respectful vibe
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet set timelines
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Must have an open driver's license
  • Willing to get an MR license within 6 months (we'll cover the cost) and drive MR vehicles
