We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable CNC Lathe Operator to join our client's team on a permanent full-time basis. Our client is a well-established and respected name in the metal products and fabrication industry, based in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs. This is a great opportunity to secure stable, long-term employment in a clean and professional workshop environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision metal parts to specification
  • Perform routine pre-start checks and ensure machines are running efficiently
  • Conduct basic maintenance, including tool changes, coolant top-ups, and general upkeep
  • Monitor part quality during production and make necessary offsets or adjustments
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and job sheets
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and compliant work area in line with company standards

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience operating CNC lathes in a production or metal fabrication setting
  • Ability to confidently read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Full Australian work rights
  • Relevant trade qualifications (e.g. Fitter & Turner or CNC Machinist) are highly regarded
