Overview
Grant Transformers designs, manufactures, and imports high-quality distribution transformers and related electrical equipment for Australian and international markets. We are seeking an experienced Operations & Electrical Manager to lead our production, technical, and compliance activities across locally manufactured and imported transformer products.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations of our Perth manufacturing facility, including production planning, assembly, and quality control.
Coordinate the import and local integration of transformers sourced from international suppliers.
Manage procurement, inventory, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and improve cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and ISO quality standards.
Electrical & Technical Management
Provide technical oversight for the electrical design, testing, and commissioning of distribution transformers (oil-filled, cast resin, and specialty units).
Ensure compliance with AS 61556, AS/NZS 60076, AS MEPS), and other relevant standards.
Review and approve electrical drawings, type test results, and product certifications.
Liaise with overseas suppliers to ensure imported units meet Grant Transformers' specifications and Australian regulatory requirements.
Support development of new products and customised solutions for key customers.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, engineers, and technicians.
Work closely with the Sales, Project Management, and Senior teams to ensure smooth project handover and customer satisfaction.
Provide input on tenders, risk assessments, and contract requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualified Electrician preferrable
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (essential); additional qualifications in Operations or Business Management desirable.
7+ years' experience in transformer manufacturing, power equipment, or heavy engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of transformer design, testing, and Australian compliance standards.
Proven ability to manage supply chain, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
