Chameleon Youth Housing, part of Chameleon Regional Community Housing Accommodation and Welfare Association Incorporation, is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving the Redcliffe Peninsula for over 36 years. Specializing in youth accommodation and support services, we cater to both male and female residents aged 16 to 25, and in some cases, younger individuals to ensure their immediate welfare. We also provide safe and affordable housing to young parenting families in crisis, helping them secure long-term, independent accommodation. Our strength-based environment empowers young people to take control of their lives and work towards a better future.

Role Description

This is a on-site role for a Casual Youth Housing Worker located in the Kippa-Ring Area. The Youth Housing Worker will be responsible for providing direct support and supervision to young people in our housing programs. Daily tasks include conducting assessments, developing individualized support plans, facilitating life skills and educational workshops, and providing crisis intervention when necessary. The role also involves liaising with other support services and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience and skills in Youth Work, Youth Services, and Youth Mentoring
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive environment
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, or related fields
  • Knowledge of the issues surrounding youth homelessness is a plus
  • Current First Aid certification and valid driver's license are beneficial
