Position Summary
The Supply Chain / Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of the company's transport, logistics, and supply chain operations. This role ensures operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective resource management. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience managing drivers, vehicles, and logistics operations in the transport industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate driver activities, vehicle allocations, and delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transport operations.
- Manage procurement and purchasing for operational needs, including vehicle parts, fuel, and other essential supplies.
- Ensure compliance with fatigue management, vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and company accreditation requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities, critical documentation, and compliance reports.
- Coordinate workshop and maintenance activities in line with driver schedules and operational requirements.
- Analyse operational data to identify risks, improve efficiency, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead, supervise, and train drivers and logistics staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth operations and meet service delivery standards.
- Monitor budgets, manage costs, and optimise resource allocation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience in transport, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain, transport, and logistics management principles.
- Experience managing drivers, vehicles, procurement, and warehouse/workshop operations.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, fatigue management, and transport safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyse operational performance and implement process improvements.
